2006 Nautique 226 Center Window Alignment Issue

The center window on my 2006 Nautique 226 binds when closing. Is there anything I can do to gain 1/16 or 1/8 inch in the opening?

At present the edge of the window frame has to be pushed towards port in order to close the window. The fit is so tight that at the top of the starboard side window frame, there is visible abrasion from metal to metal contact. The hinge operates freely, and there doesn’t appear to be excess play in the hinge. Here's a picture of the window resting on the frame prior to use of persuasion.

The alignment along the top edge is off.

Visually it appears that the starboard side aluminum strut supporting the window frame may be too short, and is pulling the frame back and down. I haven’t tried loosening it yet to see if the frame moves on its own. Given the propensity for tempered glass to explode from stress (or in this case the potential relief of stress that has been there for 18 years), I thought I’d first reach out to the community.

Any suggestions as to cause and potential remediation would be most appreciated.

New problem or ongoing for years? I had a '95 Sanger open bow that had a similar problem. Had one side unscrewed from hull and remounted to fix it.

Issue has existed since new. I'm the recent 2nd owner.

      Repositioning makes sense.

Not something I want to tackle immediately.

Thanks very much for your response.

Rusty Axle mine was also very temperature sensitive; rubbed badly when cold out, no problem when hot. I had the adjustment done when it was most noticable.

I had a 226, bought new in 2005. The dealer had to reposition the windshield due to this issue within the first 18 months of ownership

Fortunately this doesn't appear to be a difficult repair. It looks like pulling the rubber moulding along the bottom of the window frame exposes the screws. So no need to disassemble window frames or any other complexity. Given the minor amount or repositioning required, I'll likely fill the old holes for added strength prior to drilling new ones.
