Disconnected engine ground cable on 2006 SV211

Had a knock sensor error come up so looked into port side engine bay and found the knock sensor wire disconnected from sensor. Also found the reason was the engine ground cable was not connected to engine and lying on top of sensor wire. it's still connected to boat ground. The engine still starts fine without it but I want to get this fixed correctly.

I don't see or feel an engine stud on the side of the block to reconnect it to. Does anybody know where to reconnect it?

Sorry, I'm of no help, but I kept wondering what the heck the yellow thing on the right of your photo was, as it didn't look familiar. I finally realized it's a light.

Just replaced my port side negative battery cable this spring. Snapped a pic for you....hopefully this helps you find the stud. If you are looking down at the motor from the rear(removable) seat, it's below the FCC - just to the right, on the front face (towards the bow) of the motor.

Thanks for the reply nhbouch. I found the connections in your picture and those connections are still in place on my boat. That ground wire goes to my battery. I dug around some more and found a 5/16 tapped hole in block up under the exhaust manifold so I just used that. Done.

You suppose the old bolt is floating somewhere in the mysterious black hole under the engine, where things go never to be seen again?
I know for certain there is a boxed end wrench, socket, and engine drain plug in the depths of my gallows. No stiff wire, bright light, mirror, or magnet will return their presence from Planet Methuselah.
