'04 SAN TE 226 - Blower Replacement Help

Hi PlanetNautique. Love this forum - been on here and enjoying the content for a long time (5 Nautique's since 1984, G23 soon). Thanks to everyone who participates!

I need some help with replacing the blower on my '04 226. The blower is mounted to the transom behind and below the huge muffler. I can't get to it through the engine compartment. Because the 226 has the port side walk-through there is no room to go in through that small side compartment in the walk-through. Can anyone help on how to get to the blower on this model? Is the hard tank ballast on the port side removable so I can slide in there, if so how?

No real suggestions, other than mount the new one elsewhere, but I wanted to post because I have dealt with the 226 before, and I feel your pain! Have you tackled an impeller on that boat yet? Fun times.........

My 226 is a bit newer (2010) so I'm not sure if they are the same. I just removed the divider that separates the engine compartment from the starboard locker. I was able to lay on top of the ballast tank and reach the blower from there. Magnetic screw drivers are your friend because its very easy to drop the fasteners with how far you need to reach. I wired it back in before I mounted the new one and it wasn't the worst but I probably should have moved it to make it easier next time..
