2006 Nautique 226 - How To Remove The Front Nav Light Lense

How is the front nav light lense removed to replace the bulb?

Removing the phillips screw in the cover was simple enough.

But the post that serves as the base for the cover screw seemed to be holding the lense in place.

After inserting every US and foreign hex or serrated head tool into it, I'm guessing it's not the issue.

I considered a few taps with a rubber mallet, thinking that possibly the rubber gasket under the lens is sticking.

But I figured I'd better come here and see if anyone could offer guidance before I break something.

I twisted and rocked the lense until it started to loosen, and eventually it came off. It was stuck quite well to the gasket. The existing GE 2641LF 12V 10W will be replaced with an LED bulb.

I think the added brightness will be a plus. And, I enjoy sitting in the middle of the lake at night for hours with a glass of wine and a good playlist on the audio system. Probably a nit, but I figure anything I can do to draw less current is positive. My wife had to retrieve me with the SeaDoo a couple nights ago. Only one battery and it was already low on charge from earlier that day, unbeknownst to me. So now I have a jumper pack that lives in the glovebox and stays charged via the power outlet.
