    2018 SAN 230 starting issues

Have been have intermittent issues with starting. At first I assumed batteries needed to be replaced and did so. Took boat out yesterday and everything was great. Killed the engine to allow the crew to hop in and cool off while switching riders. Went to start back up and nothing. Its like the start button is ignoring me. I will typically shut the computer down and turn the battery selector switch to off. Give it a minute or two the. Reboot and try to start. Sometimes it will start up and other times I will continue to push the start button up to 20 times before the engine cranks. Have also noticed a drop in my volt meter when it doesnt want to start. I went through the boat checking all connections on the ground and hot wire. Everything is tight and not showing corrosion. What am I missing?

On a side note I did find that the ground wires for both batteries had worn through the rubber coating this spring and caused a fault in my sub amp. I used rubber shrink tube to “repair” the wires and put them inside of the black flexible conduit. Possible I am getting issues from that previous problem?

It was the throttle control module. Ordered and installed a new one. Works like it should.

I had checked about every wire connection in the boat to make sure it was secure. I had 2 options. Replace the starter or replace the control module. I spoke with one of the parts guy’s at Buxton. He said it was either one or the other. Since I was not at the lake I could not test either. He said if it is the control module you can push the button to allow for high idle in neutral. If the light doesnt come on its the control module. Based on what I was experiencing I did not feel like the starter was failed so honestly made a logical guess and was correct. If I was wrong, I would have had an extra control module in my hands which I figured wasnt a bad thing and I would need to change the starter.
