My boat was running fine at low speeds below 7-10 miles an hour. When i punched the throttle the check engine light came on t he dash and the boat sputtered. My first attempt to fix it was to was to change the fuel filter and the spark plugs and test the fuel flow. Unfortunately this made no difference. Then I changed the fuel pump and thought the problem was fixed, however after running the boat for close to an hour the same issue reappeared. It seems once the engine gets hot or hotter the engine light comes on and the boat goes back to a sputter. My next move is to examine and test the nock sensor. This however is hard to get at and expensive to replace and am just reaching out to see if anyone has any other ideas that it might be.
