    Prop Repair

Who is your go to for a hacked prop?
Have had a good 10 year run now, until yesterday when my co-pilot came in a little hot on not our normal boat ramp. Prop vs. trailer.
That is such a lovely sound, and you know it when you hear it.
Prop Depot out of Tennessee has a thing that for $306.80 (on a 17") they repair and cover shipping both directions, seemed ok to me.
I read in another post that if you buy a new OJ prop, from OJ, they will repair your old one for free?
I'm sure some of you have local shops that will do it, we don't anymore. The place that used to do it here, apparently the guy quit or retired, and no one knows how to run the machine, lol.

Freak, brand new prop, but I've seen worse:

Oh no! Not terrible damage but that sound must have made your heart skip more than a couple beats. I feel for ya - nightmare scenario!

Hey, did you mention a while back that you were maybe interested in a prop I had for sale? I actually have 2 for sale now with new ride. Not trying to market you in your time of need, and like you said the damage isn't too bad, but if you're interested in either of the two I have for sale let's chat. And if I'm confusing this with a different conversation, rack it up to my worsening case of CRS...

I use Prop MD here in the Minneapolis area. They offer similar send-in service/pricing to the Prop Depot. I've been very pleased with their work!

I ran through the Prop MD website, yes very similar makes it an easy process, great to know, thanks.

BasaltRMK, yes I am almost as sure as my prop is bent, that was me. Thanks for letting me know. We have gone so long without a prop strike, and just felt a prompting to have a backup early this Season. Now down to no backup and a big boat trip coming up days around the corner. Odds & stats what are the chances of that happening again, well it's a boat, sheesh happens (like a rope taking out a Trans, right swatguy?) I would like to try an Acme 2749 High Elevation or whatever the OJ equivalent is, if you have one of those in your back pocket.

Scooter G - yup, the 2749 is sitting in my basement gathering proverbial dust as we speak.

Check the 'Gear for Sale' section, I'm not smart enough to add in the link.

Also forget how to send a private message (and my work phone is blowing up), but we can chat off line if you want. I could cut you a great deal, a 17" paperweight isn't doing a lot for me...

Nettle has always been great to me. Have had 4 rebuilt from them. Usually pretty decent turnaround.

dont do an OJ. Your boat will despise you. A Nautique deserves an Acme !!!!!!!!!

I use the prop repair people here in Old Hickory, TN. Its in the Nashville area.
They have the fortune of knowing my name when I walk in the door! ugh
but I would recomend 1000% for sure!

Acme’s turnaround time the last couple of years was very long.midseason. Talking month or more. One of the main reasons I started using Nettle.
