    Shaft seal replacement

Currently swapping the transmission on my 17 G23 and figured while its all apart go ahead and replace the shaft seal if possible. Looking at Nautique parts they say the older solid red dripless system that used snap ring to hold in the seal is no longer replaceable. Has anyone been able to source one elsewhere? With all the variations of shaft driven boats in the world I find it hard to believe there's not a replacement seal. I've already got it out as its super simple and see no identification #s. Or am I stuck having to upgrade to the glide setup?

zmnypit I have a 2017 G-23 as well . I'm just curious how many hours you had on your G-23 before you had a complete transmission failure?

GMLIII 264hr but starting noticing it last year around 240hr. It would hit random neutral then never go back in gear for a couple hrs. Happened again 2 weeks ago and never would go back in gear. Bought a replacement and while waiting on a new damper plate decided to tear into the old one. Here's what I found so far.

zmnypit Wow that is a major engine failure for a boat with only 260 hours . Sure hope it was covered under warranty for you

GMLIIIUnfortunately warranty has been gone. Picked up a trans for $1600 and swapping myself. Would already be done but the damper plate was rusted to the input shaft on the trans so I destroyed it getting it off. That and the shaft seal as well I want to replace while it's apart.
