    211 snap in carpet

I have a 211 with the snap in carpet, one of the snaps has come off (drivers seat side) and I can't screw it back in (the screw just spins in the hole - the hole is too big now/stripped), any ideas? thanks.

a bigger screw probably won't fit in the head of the button, so you need to get a bit of resin and fill the hole. this is a pain for such a small amount, so maybe the 5 min epoxy that comes in the double siringe would do it. is the boat under warrantee? i the dealer does any fiberglass repairs you would think they would just fill the little hole for free.

The cheap getto way we used to do it was to put the wooden end of a match stick in the hole to fill the gap.

I would rather do the epoxy method, but the match stick will work in a pinch.

I would try to wrap the screw piece with black electrical tape and retry. End of day if under warranty take it to the dealer.

I second ag4ever! That is exactly what I was going to recommend. Once the snap is back in place you won't see it anyhow! Fast, cheap, and easy fix!!

If you use marine tex make sure you have some good rough surface for the filler to attach to or it will not stick to the fiberglass resin very well.
