Identify Engine

Hello,
I am considering buying a 1993 nautique with this engine.
Could you help me to identify the engine and provide some insights (spares availbility).

That's a carbureted 351 HO 285 HP. It is not a Pro-Tec engine, which is a good thing. That is probably about the best engine you could ask for in that year of boat. Plenty of parts available, and you have GT-40 heads giving you the extra horsepower over the standard 260.

What Jeff said….351 small block Ford with GT40 heads. Lovely engine. Zillions of ‘em out there so parts are not a problem. Engine looks nice and clean in the photo. How many hours? Looks like there is a Perfect Pass speed control installed. Bonus.

1993 is a no-wood, all composite hull…another bonus.

Great txs guys, the 1993 is indeed on purpose for the no wood and I looked for the confirmation it is no Pro-tec.
Boat has a Stargazer indeed.
Engine has 950 hours, well maintained.
