    2007 SV211 PBC 330 cylinder 8 seized

I’m looking for any advice on what to do. The engine is gone and PCM no longer makes that long block. Anyone have this experience. Boat only has 732 hours and was perfectly maintained. Thank you

I was driving on a smooth lake round 38mph/3900rpm’s and all of the sudden the boat slowed to 30mph. I pulled the throttle back and shut the engine down. Upon openi
g the engine compartment there was a ton of smoke. Water temp was fine, pile pressure fine. I let it sit for about 30 amd fired the engine up for a second to hear “bang bang bang” and cut it again. Boat shop ran some tests and say cylinder 8 seized but they are pulling the engine today. They are sayi
g 2 choices for motors, new PCM 6L (includes tranny and drive shaft) $22k or Jasper Engine Long Block for around $12k.

Same boat /engine as mine. I believe this the motor here, but in direct drive format, closed cooling. So some parts swapping required i guess.

$22k for a PCM 6L with trans is a really good price. Most dealerships charge $30k plus for that installed. If your boat currently has a PCM 40i transmission then I would opt for the new engine / trans. The 40i's aren't that robust compared to the newer 80a and if you end up having to replace the trans down the road then that'll cost you another 5-6k. Plus the 6L is a nice upgrade in power, and getting all new peripheral engine parts means you won't likely need any other engine work for quite a while.

If in the process, if you can keep the broken engine / trans, then those parts do have non-trivial resale value.

be prepared for some modifications in the engine compartment. the 6.0 wont cleanly drop into the boat. add another 8-10 hours to the estimste

No judgement here, but $22K is a lot of ching to drop into an '07!
