Nautique SV 211 / Gauge Speed Signal Paddle Wheel - Pilot Tube

I have an SV 211 from 2005 with pilot tubes speed.
I removed the pilot tubes to avoid water damage in the gateway box. So far everything else is working fine.
Unfortunately I miss my speedometer.

Is there a way to connect the Perfect Pass paddle wheel to the older Gateway Box with Pilot Tubes?
This seems to work with the newer gateway box.

Not really. Your least expensive option is probably to upgrade your PerfectPass system to Stargazer. That way you'll have GPS speed there.

Alternately, you could do a Gateway Bypass.

Is there no way to display the boat speed on a two line PP display? Sorry...I'm not familiar with what the 2 line display unit can do...

I also have disconnected my pitot tubes so my speedo is also non-functional. My Stargazer PP with the large 4 line display always shows the current speed so it's a non issue.

It's probably cheaper to upgrade your PP to a Stargazer unit vs retrofit a new gauge package. And you'll get the benefit of a much improved speed control system.

I have the Stargazer PP and it also shows me the speed.
I specifically activated the system on the paddle wheel because our river has a very strong and fluctuating flow. Sometimes I drive in RPM mode and then the Stargazer doesn't show any speed. It would be great to have then a speedometer that can show the speed.
Would it be possible to convert just the speedometer to analog and connect it to the paddle wheel? The only information I need from this speedometer is the depth. But I could do this with an additional gauge that is compatible with the Aimar depth gauge.

Here's a few thoughts

1 / Perfect Pass offers a 'river mode' module for the stargazer. There aren't any details on their website on what this does and the FAQ says to call them. See FAQ #2. Maybe that's an angle that will solve the GPS vs Paddle wheel issue. https://perfectpass.com/faqs

2 / I don't believe there is any way to modify the current Faria speedo to accept a different speed input. The Nautique faria gauge set is a bus based system using the proprietary controller box. Now...huge longshot here....later versions of the controller box delete the pitot inputs and as I understand it use the PP paddlewheel input to drive the speedo. Maybe if you get your hands on one of those later model boxes you could swap that in and it might magically enable your speedo. But I've been on this board for a while and have never seen a thread on Faria box model swaps so this is really uncharted territory. Also..Faria boxes are hard to come by.

3 / If the PP river mode doesn't solve your problem, maybe the best approach is to swap out the existing speedo for a standalone GPS speed.
