    Well gents, issue resolved.
Big thank you to SilentSeven and Teamseal. I purchased a complete duralast gold distributor from autozone and left everything original on it just to check. Haven’t put computer on it yet to get timing dialed in but water tested and it preforms like a new boat (as it should with everything ive replaced lol). I kept the ACDelco cap and rotor i had and might swap things around just to check but super stoked.
cant believe it was a 220$ fix.
Thanks again for all the help guys.
This type of issue is exactly what these forums are supposed to be for. It took a while but i knew i would find at least one person that has experienced this before.

Excellent! Thanks for the follow-up report! Any chance you might be able to publish some photos of what the insides looked like? The Youtube vid I linked I thought was insightful as it showed the wear items. Be interesting to match this to what your distributor looked like.

There's a growing body evidence that the distributors in these PCM engines (both the ford based GT40s and GM based 330s/343s) wear out over time leading to various running problems.

Good to hear you're boat is back in full running order.

1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)
1982 Mastercraft Powerslot - gone (a primitive but wonderful beast)
