    230 Belly Tank

I have a 2012 230 and was wondering if anyone has pulled out the belly hard tank and replaced with a custom bag that would make use of the space in front of where hard tank is as well. Wanting to get as much weight low down up front to help with the 1100lb bags I have in the back. Not worried about the work of pulling the tank out, just want to be pretty confident it will work first.

I haven't but I have gotten in there to fix a center tank leak. You have a LOT of room fore of the center tank. You could probably add a significant amount of ballast over factory if you could take advantage of the cavity size. You're up against the gas tank so sliding would be a concern. iirc there's not a bulkhead or anything between the two. The pluming should be simple. But at the end of the day when I had the opportunity to do this I just fixed the tank and plumbed in an under-bow piggyback bag.

      Thanks for the reply
yea it looked like there was plenty of space under there. I roughly worked out I should be able to get 1000lb in there. Thought it would be a great place for it. I already have the bow ballast under the seats but would like the space for gear.

You can add the arrow sac , piggy back it off center tank and it will fill and add extra. You have to sawzall the tank out in pieces , so there no going back. It can be done but you may only gain 150-200 over the piggy back arrow

I didn’t think the arrow sac would work as I don’t have the u shaped hard tank

We have a bag under the front seats that is attached to the belly tank vent then vents overboard. It is 1100lb

You can't piggyback the arrow sac on a 2012. At some point (I think 2010) they yanked the ski locker. The center tank is there now.

Yes I think the ski locker was removed in 2010 and the factory belly tank increased in size and changed from U to rectangle. I wish the arrow sac was an option for us. I have 1100s in the rear and then piggy backed the belly in to the under bow sac. I could still use some additional bow weight, especially when trying to plane off at wakeboard speeds. I don't really want to deal with lead but I am thinking 200 lbs tucked all the way up in the nose in front of the ballast bag is going to be my solution next season. Griffen if you pull your belly tank and add a sac please post some pics and dimensions.

I run 280 lbs of pop bags (7) all the way in the nose of my bow. , a tube sac piggy backed off my center tank , Andy 1100’s around 75-80% full for wakeboarding on my 210.
