Problem updating LINC software in SN 200 from 2019

Trying to update the LINC software on a SN 200 from 2019. I have a 16GB flash memory formatted with FAT32 and only a single file on the stick. The file is the from dealer and is supposed to work on this specific boat. Anyone got any idea about what is wrong? It is a ridicules long file name - should it be shortened? Is the original software to old to take this 2024 update?

That’s not a valid file name for the firmware. Looks like the dealer didn’t download it correctly.

What is a typical file name format?

        update-full_CC_20yy_mmm_dddddddd_vvvvvvv.pv1

yy - model year of boat design
        mmm - boat model designator
dddddddd - date of firmware build
        vvvvvvvv - firmware version number

Also, trying to rename and force the load of a corrupt firmware file can brick the screen.

Great info! I will re- connect with dealer. Is it possible to get the files directly from Nautique as well?

I have a 2019 200SN. Why would you want to update to a later version of software? Am I missing something?

It is a demo boat from Nautique and I believe with very early software revisions. We have some problems with ot that may be software bugs. I am not certain but the thought is to start with making sure the system is as uptodate as possible.

A lot of boats have really old firmware on them. They don't tend to make updates that often, and they typically stop making updates a few year after they move on to a new design, but they do fix a fair amount of bugs and sometimes improve the usability of the firmware. So it's not a bad idea to have the latest. But the other way to look at it, is if everything is working fine to your satisfaction, why mess with it.

No, Nautique doesn't make the firmware publicly available. And if you put the wrong firmware on a boat, in some cases, it can also brick the screen into an un-recoverable state. So technically only dealers are suppose to update the firmware, and if they screw the screen up, then in theory they should be responsible.
