GT40 shower removal

this boat, i am looking at, 2001 SN 196 with GT40 has a shower. The motor looks very different from my previous GT40. I am guessing it is because of the shower. it looks like it has some sort of heat exchanger and a coolant reservoir with a pressure cap? ♂️
can this whole system be removed and converted to a the basic raw water cooling system? if so, what all would it entail?

That's a closed loop cooling system. Not really because of the shower. Generally considered an upgrade because it cuts down on corrosion within the engine where antifreeze circulates. Personally, I wouldn't remove it. But it could be done, but you'll possibly need some different parts. It would also be easiest to do if you had a raw water cooled GT40 sitting next to it for reference.

What you are describing sounds like a "fresh water" cooling system -- also known as a "closed loop" cooling system. Unless there is some major problem with the fresh water cooling system, don't remove it! Keep the closed loop cooling system.

I'm very curious as how a shower was added to a closed loop system. I would love a picture or 2 of how the shower is plumbed into the system. What is the hot water source for the shower? I want to add a shower to my boat (also with the closed loop cooling system), but I haven't been able to figure out a hot water source as the traditional "raw water" cooled system takes the hot water for the shower directly from the engine block.
