RE: Bimini tops
Worth every penny. You won't be sorry. Mine is 5 years old and still looks and functions great. Ask for a Planetnautique discount. You can probably get a bit off. BKH2001 Super Air

RE: Re: RE: Bimini tops
I got my "under fct" bimini from Adlee in Riverside CA, IIRC it was $595. I choose them because my buddy had an 81 SN with a 20+ year old Adlee bimini that still looked perfect. Adlee is a family owned and run business.
I dropped my boat off on Wednesday afternoon so they could do a custom fit for me and they said it would be ready Tuesday of the next week. I called them first thing the next morning because i changed my mind about the stripe color and I wanted to make arrangements to take the boat home over the weekend to do some maintanence. Told them i would bring it back Monday morning so they could get to work on the bimini. They called me back the same day a couple hours later, cover was done and boat was ready to go.
I know TowerBimini is a very nice quality product. Adlee is a fair priced high quality option.
I just noticed on their dated website that they advertise "2 hour Service" on bimini tops.

RE: Bimini tops
I built my own... I used 3/4" aluminum tubing, bent using a conduit bender, made couplings out of 5/8" aluminum bar stock, used shaft collars to attach to tower (had to bore out to fix tower tube OD), and took to an Amish tarp shop to have the 'vinyl' made.
Using the shaft collars to mounts, I didn't have to drill any holes in the tower or in the fiberglass.
I'll take some pics of the frame, shaft collars and 'vinyl' and post later. I don't think I have a pic with it installed on my boat, but I'll check that too.
I probably have $125 tied up in it.1987 Ski Nautique 2001

Here are some more pics...
The frame is in the shape of a trapazoid. The top of the trapazoid is 57.5", the bottom is 66.75" and the height is 57". I use PVC pipe to get the size to fit inside my tower before I made it in aluminum.
The coupling is out of 5/8" round bar stock with one SS screw holding it together.
The shaft collar is a stock 1 7/8" shaft collar that I bored open to 1.905".
I attached the frame to the shaft collars using a 3/4" shoulder screw/stripper bolt.
The vinyl is lashed to the frame with parachute cord.
The only thing I still want to do is put a slight bow in the top and bottom of the trapazoid along with a middle support so it doesn't look so much like a trampoline.
I want to paint the frame black as well so it blends in better with the tower.1987 Ski Nautique 2001
