2000 SN - What type of battery actually fits in the stock battery box

I just picked up a 2000 SN, going through it, and the battery in it now has the terminal stick up higher than the cover, so the cover doesn't fit. Which type of battery should be in there / actually fits? Thanks

Believe it or not, I use the standard Wal-Mart EverStart batteries, and they tend to last a long time, and are inexpensive.

I will agree with the Wal-mart lead acid battery and add that will never again spend the money on AGM's that seem to deteriorate at the same rate.
