2006 SV211 Gauges/Wiring/etc

Just picked up a 2006 SV211 with 300 hours in near perfect condition. I grew up in Orlando with a 1983 2001 Ski Nautique. Now I’m a dad, so this is our first family boat.

None of the gauges on the dash work (including PP). The Ballast gauges work fine though (lights too). I’m aware of the dredded Gateway box issue, and if that’s the case I found the bypass gauge kit. But naturally, I wanted to tinker first and make sure that’s what it was.

Back on the motor I have two electrical pigtails that aren’t connected to anything. Wondering if anyone can tell me where these go and if something is missing.

The one in your hand is a diagnostic port.

The one at the front of the engine appears to be the wiring for the gauges.

That said, this engine isn't original to the boat. Tige' engines in Nautiques may be difficult to wire up.

Who replaces an engine with a non-factory unit? That's a first as far I can remember.

any of you boys have any suggestions on how I can find out how to connect the gauges to this Tige motor? I don’t think it’s going to be all that difficult. Just hoping for a good place to start. Thanks!

Assuming the boat is NOT a Signature Edition (the very base model), you'll likely need to install a Gateway Bypass kit. I am almost certain that that engine will never connect to the gateway that is in that boat (assuming it is not an SE). The gateway is what feeds the information to the gauges in the dash.

At the very least, you'll almost certainly not be able to use your current gauges (unless your boat is an SE). You might be able to wire new gauges directly to the wiring on that front plug, but it won't be fun if you're not experienced doing this type of work.

Ive seen the bypass install guide, but I’m still curious:

It looks like the bypass kit runs all the way to the motor in mostly separate pigtails, as opposed to everything plugging into that one unconnected pigtail at the front of the motor. Is that correct? I do see several connected electrical pigtails plugged into the top of the motor. I’m curious if the previous owner already bypassed the gateway. The tubular engine connector (also in that picture missing a clamp) is very corroded and is on my list to clean and try.
