Hello, I recently bought a 1992 Supra Impulse with Ford PCM pro-tec. The boat has low hours and in good shape but the carb needed a rebuild, which I had done and tested. I want to check / set initial timing after reinstalling the carb but not sure how to do it. The PCM manual says the only adjustment needed on these is setting initial timing, so I presume it can be done. Is there a small clamp on or under the interrupter / "puck" that can be loosened to rotate it like a distributor? Any help is very much appreciated. I searched for this topic and didn't find it. thanks for any info! Doug from NH

Static timing is 10 degrees BTDC, 18 degrees BTDC at 700 rpm. You have to disconnect the knock sensor prior to checking / setting timing.

To set the initial timing on your PCM Pro Tec Ford 351, locate the interrupter or puck and slightly loosen its clamp to allow adjustment. Use a timing light to align the harmonic balancer marks with the recommended timing, usually around 10° BTDC at idle, then rotate the puck gently until correct timing is achieved.

Hmmmm, the above post looks very AI-like to me - and don't think it's correct vs what Jonny Quest describes
