I have a 2018 GS22 and I'm having problems with after surfing. I've added in after market ballast bags for the surf wake. But when I empty them, and start cruising, the boat will suddenly lose speed and stop running. I replaced the timing belt with the prop. Along with the prop, and it still happens. Is it something with the technology in the speed control, or something in the engine. It has been a problem for awhile, mechanics can't do anything so turning to this.

Timing belt? Do you mean the accessory belt on the very front of the engine? Also sometimes called the serpentine belt?
I can't see how your issue could be related to the extra ballast bags, prop, or serpentine belt. I would suspect the Throttle Base Assembly. How often does the problem happen. If it happens often, then the best way to figure it out would be to watching what's going on with Diacom connected when the problem happens. -
The prop had a dent, caused the engine to overwork. This problem happens everytime we go out, and we end up ending the trip because of it. How would I watch the diacom connected. I haven't seen any warnings or lights.Comment
