I have a 1983 ski nautique that I would like to put brakes on it's trailer. Anyone Recommend brand or anything about putting Brakes on 1983 correctcraft trailer.

I changed out the drum brakes and actuator for discs on my 95 SN trailer. Was able to order every thing from Champion Trailers on line site. Tie Down Engineering components. This was an easy install.

I had an '82 Ramlin and wanted to change the drums to discs and was told the Tie Downs didn't fit. But that was several years ago...

But one thing is fo rsure, don't get drums - they're useless.

Did all of your trailers already have brakes? And are the Brakes you installed, Hydralic or Electric. Skiboatbill

The trailer had hydraulic drum brakes on it to begin with. But if you trailer axle dose not have the brake flanges you may need to get a new axel. Champion also has a full line of axles. If you do get a new axle get one with the spindle lube grease fitting. They work great for changing bearing grease. You can read more on this in the Champion web page. They also have installation instructions for the break kits. If you do get disc’s, get the vented rotors, they do get hot at times and the vented rotors will help keep them from heating up. Tie down did not offer them at the time I did my breaks a few years ago, and driving in the mountains I can see the vented rotors being worth the money.
