Hydro-gate add on

Does anyone have experience adding a hydro-gate to an exising boat?? I have a 2001 Super Air that I'd like to maybe add the hydro-gate to for wake surfing. Can you buy the hydro-gate aftermarket??

I have never seen a hydro-gate on a 210 earlier than 2007. If it is even possible to add one, it would involve grinding of the hull, and is a fairly major undertaking. I know that the 196 and 206 can have them added on after the fact, but I have never heard of anyone doing it to a pre-2007 210.

I don't remember if the 210 has the hook in the hull that the "ski" series has.

If there is no hook in the hull, adding the hydrogate will only hurt the surf wake.

If there is a hook at the rear, then grinding that hook away will increase the hull's tendancy to drop at the rear. The hydrogate is only there to make it easy to add and remove that hook from the driver's seat.

The hook I am reffering to is the little lip in the channel right behind the prop at the edge of the transom. The channel is about 8 - 10 inches wide, and the channel is about 3/8 - 1/2 inch deep.
