So I finally found a Gt-40 for my "2001" v-drive project for a reasonable price and think that I may have also found myself a v-drive and transmission but wanted to know if anyone else had an opinion on it. It's a velvet drive 1.5:1 and is in working condition but came off of a 40 ft. wellcraft and I want to make sure that the clutch plate will work with the engine and that transmission will fit the bellhousing. Any thoughts? Is the ratio too high, keeping in mind that there will be a LOT of ballast in the boat?
