Super Air "2001"

So I finally found a Gt-40 for my "2001" v-drive project for a reasonable price and think that I may have also found myself a v-drive and transmission but wanted to know if anyone else had an opinion on it. It's a velvet drive 1.5:1 and is in working condition but came off of a 40 ft. wellcraft and I want to make sure that the clutch plate will work with the engine and that transmission will fit the bellhousing. Any thoughts? Is the ratio too high, keeping in mind that there will be a LOT of ballast in the boat?

My 03 SANTE has a 1.46:1 v-drive ratio so I don't think a 1.5:1 would be too excessive. In a boat that light compared to the newer models it will definately have holeshot.

Let me get this right... Your planning on putting a v-drive setup in a 80's model "2001"? That will be interesting. I can't quite see it in my mind, but that would definately be a one-of-a-kind!

Don't forget to post some updates and pictures of this project! 1.5:1 should work out. I'm not sure if it will fit fysically to the engine though...
