I need to change my impeller, but I can't figure out how to loosen the belt tensioner. I used a 15MM wrench like the manual said, and turned the bolt which runs through the middle of the pully, but it felt like it just loosened the pully and didn't change the belt tension. What am I doing wrong? I know it must be a really easy thing, but I'm stumped!

RE: ZR6 Belt Tensioner???
With the wrench on the bolt you will move the wrench in the tighten direction. When doing this the whole tensioner assembly will move down. Keep turning the tensioner assembly down until you can get the belt off. It will be stiff at fist but the assembly will get easier the farther you move it.

RE: ZR6 Belt Tensioner???
O.K., I get it now, tighten the bolt that runs through the pully and it will loosen the tensioner, thanks! I was worried that I would overtighten the bolt and stop the pully from turning freely, but I guess they have a spacer in there that prevents the pully from being sandwiched. THANKS!

Well, I just got back from the boat, and I turned the bolt which runs through the pully in the clockwise (tighten) position and it just seemed to keep spinning. It was tight at first, but seemed to get a bit easier. I didn't see any real movement in the tensioner. I stopped because I was afraid I was tuning the wrong bolt and I didn't want to strip the threads of the bolt.
How many times do I need to turn this bolt, 1 revolution, 10 revolutions? The bolt I am turning is the one which runs right through the middle of the pully. The other two bolts look like they are just there to mount the tensioner to the block. Am I turning the right bolt?
