    Strainer??

Quick question. I have a 1999 super air and I saw a slow stead drip from the strainer (if that is what it is called). YOu think it is just a bad o ring?? I made sure it was tight. Is this something I shold worry about? WHat do I need to do to fix it

It should not be leaking, definitely replace the o-ring, it should cost less than $1. If that's not the source of the leak then begin to examine other parts of the strainer assembly.
      How about \"Chales\"?

Sometimes the pvc fittings that screw into the strainer body leak, take them apart, and reseal them. I use teflon tape.

I would highly suggest going ahead and buying a new oring. Take off the bowl and ensure its not cracked and leaking water as well. If you get just a little bit of air around this area, it can cause the pump to loose prime. (Leading to increased temp and possible kill your impeller)

I discovered that having it too tight can make it leak too. I think the Oring gets a little mashed or twisted.

You may try flipping over the gasket and as suggested check the fittings and the hose clamps going in and out of the strainer.
