1995 super sport gt40 100 amp alternator

I got this from my local dealer. Install was easy and all the wiring and hardware came in the kit :mrgreen:

Can I ask how much? Did you have to modify any pulleys or belts to make it fit? Anyone know if it fits the Carborated engine

I did this last summer and I can't remember how much it was. I will look for the receipt. You take the serpentine pulley off and put the v-belt pulley on.

What was the ball park figure for that 100 amp alt ? Did you run a isolator ? I'm not so sure i would need a isolator but definitely need the 100 amper. Thanks

I just got my 100amp kit from Skidim. It was around 270. It is the same exact kit as shown here.

I got mine a month ago. Love it so far. My needle is not jumping all over the place when the stereo is jamming now.

I have ordered this same kit for my 99 Air. Did those of you who have added this kit have to also upgrade any other wiring that is not part of the kit to accomodate the higher amps? I already have 0/1 AWG running between my batteries, the switch, the isolator and my distro block for my audio system, but I have not upgraded the rest of the power lines, which I think are 2 AWG if I remember correctly (whatever is standard on the older late 90's boats). Rewiring the main power lines to the dash and batteries will be a PITA and moderately expensive, so I sure hope that I do not have to do it.

You dont need to upgrade anything. The systems in place will not be drawing and additional current from the battery so you will be fine. The upgraded alternator will help with what you add to the battery ie. stereo, LED lights. The 2awg is fine for the batteries also.

No worries. I will eventually figure it out. Its just the wierdest combination of symptoms. We still have my boat to ride behind also.

Oh and you will love the alternator. My volt meter used to bounce with the bass but not any more.

Yep, I installed one of those a while back and it ran for about a year before it bit the dust. Not sure exactly what happened, but I couldn't find anyone in the area to rebuild it. Just ended up ordering a new one from CC to quickly get back on the water and haven't had any issues with the replacement -- been 3 seasons thus far (knock on wood!).
