    New Plug

I have a nautique boat i bought used. Upon winterizing it i found that one of the bolts had been badly stripped. i have no clue as to where i can buy a new one, or what it is i'm looking for. here are the pictures.

Anyone know what i'm looking for and where i can get it?

    RE: New Plug

How old is the boat? It looks like either an oil pressure sensor or a Knock sensor. Is there a hose that attaches to it or are there wires. If wires what color are they. Where on the block is the hole it came out of?

I'm pretty sure the boat is an 2003.

the plug has no wires nor hose running into it. I believe it's an oil pressure sensor, but i'm not sure. it's all new to me.

if you're looking at the boat head on, the plugs on your right. Back up and under the engine.

That isn't a plug... It is the knock sensor and should be located on the passenger side of the engine, below the exhaust manifold on the side of the engine block. It sits basically behind the engine mount on that side. It "listens" for any misfiring in the engine. If there is any misfiring, the engine's computer will back off the ignition timing to protect the engine. I may be wrong, but the computer needs this sensor or else it will give you a "check engine" light.

You should be able to get a new sensor from your local Nautique dealer, or hear it is from skidim... http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R020027

There should be a one wire connector the plugs into the sensor. The sensor shouldn't be tightened too tight into the engine. It's measurements can be altered by being over tightened. I think the manuals say 15 ft.lbs of torque.

Hope this gets you back on the water soon... Good luck!

*Edit: You will need an 11/16 socket or wrench to tighen it if I remember correctly. Evidently the previous ower didn't have one which is why yours looks that way.

X2 on the knock sensor I just wanted to add look for a plastic connector probably laying around the front drivers side motor mount. The connector will have a single blue wire I think.

I'll go with the knock sensor as well. That is the sensor you would normally pull on a late model boat to drain the block. Also when you reinstall the new one DO NOT use any sealent or teflon tape. It is very sensitive to knocking and any insulation will interfere with it's operation.
