    Working out the kinks

When I purchased my '91 CC Ski Excel the prop was in bad shape so when I ran it there was alot of vibration when run at over idle speed. The old prop was in such bad shape but I was testing the boat to buy it, that is the only reason why I ran it with a damaged prop. When I put the new prop on and put the boat in the water it was making a noise that sounded to me like the prop was hitting something as it spun (If you can imagine what that sounds like). I know it was not hitting anything in the lake because I was in open water at 20 ft. deep. It does not make this noise when its out of gear. I gave it a little gas and accelerated and I could no longer hear the "ticking" noise. And because I did not want to take the chance of causing further problems, I went ahead and trailered the boat. Does anybody have any suggestions on what the problem might be or where to begin checking? Previous owner said at the end of last summer when the boat went into storage it was working fine and sounded great. Any help would be appreciated because I want to get it running great before summer arrives.
    Thanks,
    The Snowman

When it comes to something as expensive as a prop/driveshaft/transmission/engine there's no reason to not be a little on edge!

Glad you got it figured out!

Sounds like the prop nut was a little loose to me.
