I would go with Zero-Off http://www.zerogps.com/ when (and if) they get the retro-fit unit out. Unless you ride in a river, it looks like the best option out there. Of course, a lot depends on their reto-fit implementation.

What does riding in a river have to do with the Zero-Off technology? Zero off is based upon the speed you're traveling (as measured from point A to point B). While a current would effect the amount of RPM's needed to maintain the correct speed, Zero-off does this automatically and in real-time, whereas with PP, you would need to manually adjust for this.
Unless PP comes up with the same technology, Zero-off will quickly surpass them.

I dont see anything on Zero-Off's site that addresses that- but correct me if it does. The system seems to be geared toward skiing in the course, which is fine- but the ability to take current into account would benefit anyone who is free skiing, wakeboarding, etc.1990 Ski Nautique

Don't mean to start rumors, but I was talking with the tech at PP and he told be to wait because they too are working on a way to hook up with a GPS unit as well!
As for putting PP on the '00 PAN, he said they would rather loose the one or two sales a year then have someone disappointed in their product. It sucks but I understand they are not looking to sell a PERFECT pass that doesn't work perfectly. If anyone has PP on a '00 TWC hull, please let me know how it works. He said he hadn't actually seen it first hand so he wouldn't say how much or ofter it would be fluctuating but as of now I'm going to hold off. I guess I'm going to just to have to keep my buddy, who I call PP, around as a permanent driver!
