    Reverse wont engage

My buddy has 2001 Super Air and last weekend the reverse wouldnt engage. It just revs the engine like its in neutral. I will tell you a little background on the boat. Last summer he hit a stump and ripped out the prop rutter, drive shaft ect. $10,000 worth of damage. He has only taken it out 3 times since basiclly getting a new boat with all the repairs. Could it be just a cable adjustment?? Or is the tranny going out??

Absolutely. Open the engine cover and watch the cable at the tranny. If it doesn't fully extend to engage take the pin out and try to shift it manually. If that workd lenghten the cable until it engages. Then check forward. If the cable is to short it can be extended from the front also.
