    Found my problem!

I had a problem when my boat was given full throttle, and have tracked it down to a clogged low pressure pump screen. When I took off the low pressure pump the screen had quite a bit of crap in it. Now I need to do some work and would like some advice please.

Is SkiDim the best place for replacement fuel lines?
Any tricks to removing the gas tank?
What is the best way to clean out the gas tank?
Any chance the crap (cardboard- like stuff) got past the pump screen?
Any idea where the crap in the pump came from (other than the tank)?

    Thanks.

cardboard like stuff sounds like a water seperator filter material. what year boat or what order are items in the fuel line?

It's a 97 ski, and as far as I can tell it is just tank-> line -> low pressure pump. Is there a screen on the hose in the tank?

      Thanks

New problem now. Put everything back together, and no fuel = no starting = no skiing = really maddening day.

I should hear a hum from the low pressure pump when I turn the key to the on position (before starting) right??

        Thanks.

bummer. it will take a second or to for the pumps to prime and purge the air. my old fi cars would run the pump for 3 seconds everytime you turned the key to run but not start. the cardboard material sounds kinda odd.

try what nautiquess did put a temporary supply for the prepump. be carefull. make sure all of your electrical connections are tight before you do anything. check/swap the relays.

You may need to pull the FCC apart again in order to get it primed. I've been lucky and not had to do that procedure by cycling the on/off/on/off to prime it after an FCC filter change. But, if it doesn't prime then you'll have to pull it off and fill the bowl with fuel and put it back together.
