What brand/model ballast pumps is CC using on the new boats and are they still using a separate pump for fill and discharge or one pump for each tank that is reversible?

They are using Jabsco Water Puppy pumps. One pump for each tank that is reversible.

Is cc still using manual valves that you have to open up as well?

Nope. The new pumps don't require seperate valves. I'm sure there are petcocks that close off the thru-hull fittings in an emergency, but for day-to-day use, there are no valves.

What stops water from going past the pump when under power in the through hull fitting?

Does anyone have the problem of the pumps tripping the circuit - I have a 2006 210 - believe the first year of the new pumps

AuMDLST, yes we do even after having the impellers changed to the slimmer spec. not as bad once they were changed but still does it. do a search, quite a bit of info on that matter in some threads about a year ago

Has anybody replaced the impeller in one of these water puppy pumps? My belly tank fills slowly during running. I now have a replacement impeller and need to install it. Any tips?

The new pump systems are really not designed to be filled while under way. They do not use a scoop style pickup so that they can drain while under way. If you look at the thru hull it is flat against the hull with a small screen. While under way you have turbulence that keeps it from filling fast. The idea is to put the boat in, go to where you ride and stop. Then turn on pumps while your rider is getting the rope attached, board on, and jacket on the tanks will be full. Since they are flat on the way back to the ramp or dock they will drain out. I just ordered these thru hulls to start a ballast system on my boat and my dealer explained this to me. I have been researching this for a while as I want to do it once. Makes sense to me anyway.

The impeller is easy to change, remove the cap, swap impeller and replace the cap. If my memory is correct, the yellow impellers were bad, and they will replace at no charge from the mfg.
I have a post somewhere about my ballast install last year. I used thru hulls out the back under the deck for mine.

Sorry...I wasn't very clear in my original post. What I should have said was that if I run around with the tank empty and the pump off, the tank slowly begins to fill with water. After an hour or so of boating, my belly tank is 3/4+ full of water, even if I don't want it to fill.

I read a post on here that said that was a common problem due to a bad pump impeller. I am going to change the impeller and hope that the change prevents the tank from filling on it's own.
