    BOAT RUNNING HOT

    I HAVE A 1990 SKI NATIQUE WITH A 351 WHEN I RUN 35 TO 40 FOR 10 MIN OR MORE IT RUNS ABOUT 170 I HAVE A NEW IMPELLER AND RUNNING NO THERMOSTAT THE WATER IS ABOUT 65 TO 70 WAKEBOARDING ITS FINE AND WATERSKIING ITS FINE ITS JUST RUNNING 3/4 OPEN . THANKS FOR THE HELP

    Not sure if 170 is that hot, as our runs at about 160 when warmed up. Make sure the strainer is clean.

      Check for air leaks and look at the transmission cooler for pieces of an old impeller blocking flow.

        ur fine at 170, but i don't see why it would run that hot with no stat...
