I fired up my 1998 Nautique GT-40, after being in winter storage and a lifter is ticking. It wasn't doing this when I winterized it. All I did was change the oil and winterize. Any suggestions?
Until everything gets to operating temperature... I'd probably start it up and let it warm up a little then just go for a 5-10 minute cruise around the lake.
If that doesn't help you might poor some marvel mystery oil in your crank case and let it try to do its thing.

Just add it as per directions on the can. It goes into the regular oil filler. Your lifter is hydraulic and has just collapsed. I agree you should run it on the lake and try to see if that works. Then try the Marvel Mystry oil.
