    raw water pump direction

Weather is finally looking good here in Minnesota and am getting ready to put the boat in for the season - question on reinstalling impeller and raw water pump. When I removed the pump and impeller last fall, I didn't take note of rotation of impeller or how the water pump was orientated. Does anyone have any "rules of thumbs" or advise on reinstallation? I want to make sure I don't hook it back up "reverse" - don't know if there is an indicator or bolt that should be pointing to the engine, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

    RE: raw water pump direction

There is a screw on the side of your water pump. Looking at the end of your Ford engine, that has the v-belts, on it, towards the transmission, if the engine rotates clockwise, the screw goes in to the engine. DO NOT LOOK AT THE PROP. YOUR TRANSMISSION MAY OR MAY NOT CHANGE THE ROTATION! If your engine rotates counterclockwise, the screw goes out.
