    PerfectPass RPM problem

I have a 2000 Sport with PerfectPass that has recently become erratic. Paddle wheel seems to work fine, but RPM comes and goes. The boat's tach also works sometimes and not others. Most recently, both the oil pressure and fuel gauges peg to the maximum as soon as the key turns on. I'm thinking there must be a short to ground in the wiring harness, but wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience before I go tearing into things.

    Thanks,

    Wally

Sounds like a short or loose grond wire. Jumper a wire from the battery to the breaker box. If that doesn't help try the jumper to a ground wire on the dash pod. Finally check the ground at the engine. Good luck
