I thought I did all the proper winterization procedure. Drained block, rear ballast tanks removed, blew threw heater hose, ran antifreeze through it (and the entire system), YET....the heater still froze. Found out by running the boat in the lake, still on the trailer. Everything else is fine...thank god!
When running the boat on shore (with fake a lake attached), everything seemed fine. Water coming out both the prop shaft and exhast. I had the trailer at a forward angle so I didn't notice the bilge area filling up with water.
When it came time to put the boat in the lake, the bilges ran the whole trip to the ramp (3 miles). I knew something was rotten in Denmark, but was hoping the hard rains we had were to explain for the excessive amount of water in the boat.
With the boat still on the trailer at the ramp, but deep enough to pull water through the inlet, the boat ran fine and cool (as usual aroud 150-160), but after 5 minutes, water started running on the floor at the driver seat. Knew immedietly what the problem was.
Long story short, it's been suggested to take the core to a radiator shop and have the pipes replaced. Hate to nickle and dime a fix on a 50 K boat. Question is...will this heater core from skidim.com work for a 05 SANTE, 3 port heater (2 outlets below steering and 1above for defrost)? Obviously not smart enough to figure out what model heater I'm looking for.....
