    Rear speaker/cup-holder inserts are warping

    Hi folks,
The rear inserts that have the cup holder, the hand hold and the rear speaker on both port and starboard in my '03 216 are warping. They are pulling away from the deck and creating a large enough crack that the piping is not staying in place. Anyone else seeing this?

I just had mine off when I replaced the speakers. You might check the fasteners behind them. They may just be getting loose. There are two screws at the top - one on each side hidden behind the vinyl, and a bolt through the handle at the top and bottom. There was no lockwasher on the nut, only some silicone that was suppose to lock the nut in place. When I was reinstalling I could put the handle on and loosely tighten the nuts to adjust the piping at the top. When I tightened down on the nuts it held the piping securely. There is some vinyl adhesive tape on the piping that is probably dirty and not sticking anymore - mine did regain some of it's stickiness when I cleaned the dirt off using simple soap and water. Hope that helps.
