Servicing my 2003 210, I heard a ratling noise coming from the Sherwood water pump.
I had noticed it before but from the drivers seat, only at 700rpm but not regular.
Slight rotation on the key decided me to take it apart and measure.
The shaft looks 5/8" gives 15.87mm. The impeller looks 16mm metric.
This gives a gap more than triple what it should be.
I measured two more sherwoods at the dealers all 16mm+.
Had the experience before on non originals, so did a quick order on those, called 15.9mm, measured 15.9mm.
Still has some play on the key, but that does not worry me as much as the shaft.
Anyone experienced the ratle noice. Its quite strong when the cover is open.
