I need to buy a spare prop for my new baby. Do you think I should get whatever the standard prop is or should I buy 3rd party? If so, what and why? Are there any advantages to stainless? Your input is much appreciated. Thanks. 2004 216 Zr6.

Personally, I wouldn't go stainless. I'd rather ruin a prop than ruin a shaft or transmission if I hit bottom. The performance difference is negligible at best.
Acme makes nice props. I would certainly go with a company using the CnC machining process. If you're going to buy a 2nd prop anyway, I'd take the opportunity to enhance the performance of you boat. Could you use more holeshot, more top end, or ???. Eric Johnson at OJ is a great resource and will be able to help.
If it's perfect as is and you wouldn't change a thing, go for the same size prop.
I've tried 2 ACME's on my boat, preferred the performance of the OJ props. I now have a 13x12 OJ 4 blade nibral on the boat w/ a 13x13 OJ 4 blade stainless spare.Comment
