2003 SAN Smart pod help!! (chessie marine question)

Hey everyone, I need help ASAP, the start button on my smart pod stopped working today. Is there a way to wire around it (there are 4 wires coming out of the back of the smart pod), or more importantly, is Chessie marine open tomorrow so I can drive up and buy another, would they have it stocked?? I'd like to get my boat up and running for Sunday and Monday.

I'm near Fredericksburg VA right now, is there any other marina/dealer near central VA that would carry a smart pod for an 03 SAN??

    Thanks in advance!

Not sure if they are open but I hope you have a warranty because that part is expensive. Haven't heard of this problem yet either.

      Hi.
Did you checked the neutral safety switch in the transmission?
I'm almost sure that your problem is witha this switch.
Try to shake your thortle lever when pressing the start button. If the engine cranks is because your problem is away from the smart pod.
      Good luck!

Fonseca- Thanks for your help. I had no luck with a quick fix, but I did try your suggestion with no luck. When I hit the start button, I'm not even getting the system indicator lights to come on (those two small lights on each side of the start/stop buttons).

The funny thing is, my bilge and blower buttons on the smart pod work fine, but none of the others will work, not even the anchor light button. Has anyone ever heard of this issue?

        Thanks!

To add something else, the last few weeks the smart pod has acted strange. Twice last weekend the engine just shut off while pulling a rider. I turned the main circuit breaker off then back on and it acted normal again.

On about 8 occasions in the past month I would be pulling a rider, engine running fine, stereo on, I'd look down and all the lights on the smart pod would be off, and none of the buttons would work, not even the "Stop" button. I'd have to cut the main circuit breaker switch off just to shut the engine off. Flip the main breaker back to "all on" and the smart pod would be back to normal. I'm open to any ideas at this point.

Update- I ordered a new keypad ($335 from White Lake) and got a chance to try it out this afternoon. I plugged in the old one in the name of science and tried to start the boat, I got nothing, not even the system indicator light. Plugged in the new keypad and it worked as normal with the boat firing right up! In my case, replacing the keypad seems to have fixed the problem. I'll be on the lake all weekend next weekend, so I'll post up if I experience any more problems and need to replace any other parts.
