No start after Fuel control Cell wire harness replaced

Well, after winterizing my 1998 air nautique with the GT-40 last fall, everything went great except my Fuel control cell wiring harness was leaking. This past week end I put the new one in and now it acts like it is not getting fuel. No fire until I squirt some fuel into the spark plug hole. Any body have any insight?
    Thanks.

Does anyone know what the two metal prongs are supposted to be touching that go into the top of the FCC? I would think it is the feul pump. Could these not be touching correctly?

You mean the male spade connectors? Those need to be connected to the high-pressure fuel pump which resides inside the FCC. That's how the fuel pump gets electricity to run. Be sure to connect the wires properly. No offense, but based on your posts this might be a job best left to the dealer since you're dealing with fuel and electricity in the FCC.

No offense taken. Yes, those male spade connectors that go into the top of the FCC that are on the bottom of the harness plug. Since this is the first time I had this harness out, I can only see it going in one way and can't go in wrong. The fuel pump must just sit underneath this and when the harness is screwed in it makes a connection where ever it stops. I can hear a pump running when the key is turned on. It is not my kill switch, since it has been taken out of the loop. It cranks over great, just will not fire.

No, no, no. You have to take the FCC bowl off so you can see the other end of those spade connectors once it is screwed in. You have to manually connect the wires on the pump to those male spade connectors. They do not automatically plug in when you screw that part in. The procedure for removing the FCC bowl is the same procedure you would use to change the fuel filter. Unscrew the bowl and look at those spade connectors from the inside of the FCC. Take the two wires from the fuel pump (female spade connectors INSIDE the FCC) and connect them to the male connectors on the harness. The pump you are hearing is the LOW PRESSURE pump sitting next to the FCC.

WOW! I think you have just solved my problem. Funny nobody at Discount Inboard Marine had ever mentioned this detail of installing the harness.
I'll call them back and verify. THANKS!
