i am getting some pretty nasty vibrations when engaged in forward. looked at my prop seems to look fine, nothing tangled. could anyone lead me in the right direction as to how to solve this horrid vibration? thanx. Also water is coming in through my prop shaft boot. do you think this has anything to do with it. is there some place to lube the shaft or any components associated with it. thanx in advance!!!

RE: how can i tell for sure....
You can tighten the large brass nuts on the shaft to see if that will slow your dripping issue. If that doesnt stop it you need new packing, the GFO Gortex stuff that SKIDIM has works well.
Second, just because the prop "looks" ok doesnt mean that it is and could be the reason for the vibration.
In the past i have checked the shaft with a pencil point. Get a sharpened pencil or any point and set it at the center point of the tail end of your shaft behind the prop. Lock it into place however you can... Next spin the prop by hand, if your point moves away from the center point on the shaft it is bent.
The vibration could also be caused by bad alignment of engine and tranny.
Strut bushing could be toast and cause vibration too.
If you are fairly handy you can do all of these repairs, hope that it is the alignment cause thats the least expensive one to fix. Good luck.
