351 Carb Idle stall problem

Have the PCM 351 Carborated engine, it has a new carborator as of about 40-50hrs ago, new spark plugs, good gas, etc....it runs fine except when you are just barley in drive or reverse, it stalls. If in neutral it is fine, but if you just click in to drive and idle along it will stall....give it a little more gas and it runs fine.

are you running electronic ignition or points?

how old is the motor? what boat, model?

whoever installed the carb have them check it, but I am willing to bet your timing is off, buy a tune up kit if applicable. rotor, condensor, points and cap.

as the motor's get old condensation builds up and rises up through the distributor. this can fry electronic parts and ruin the seal you have around the cap and distributor.
