RE: Wiring the Tower Light
I don't know if this is the Best or correct way, but I wired mine directly to the battery with some Heavy duty wire, I used a Ford starter relay in that setup, with an unused button in the dash pad(heater button) to activate the relay. make sence?? if you want I can post some pics. let me know on the forum.

Onevw2go - got it. I was thinking if I could figure out which wire ran to the rear post light, then I could connect into that wire and it would then be activated off the navigation light dash button. But when i started looking at the wires that ran to the rear of the boat, there was alot of wires, at least 10 under the starboard gunnel06 Ski Nautique 196 SE (2010)

RE: Wiring the Tower Light
Just trace the wires that come from light at the front of the bow back to your dash...pick up some wire taps...and tap into those wires. Then, when you turn on your navigation lights at the dash, you only have to hit one button. I did this in 5 minutes during a houseboat trip for night use to be legal.

RE: Wiring the Tower Light
it all depends on what power lights u r running and how many there are.... u don't wanna put too many lights on the nav circuit. the wiring for the navigational lights is not meant to carry alot of extra stuff

Yes, this is the small light on the NDT tower. Ok so I should see two wires that go to the front light and just splice (not sure what tap is) into each (have to look, boat is not at my house). On the rear lamp, I located a single gray wire that goes to the lamp and it looks like the wire then travels from the light into a panel that has about 10 wires. I am guessing that is the negative. I'll look for the front light, may be simplier.06 Ski Nautique 196 SE (2010)

RE: Re: RE: Wiring the Tower Light
I would not connect it to the bow light, because then it would not work as anchor light. Remember that you have to have a 360 degree white light (to be seen within a 2 mile radius) when you are not under power. Then the bow light must be one when you are under power. If you wire it to the bow light, you can't use the anchor button any more.
So, I would look again and connect it to the stern light, so you can use it as anchor light too when you want to relax, work on something or just anchor.
