    Factory ignition code

How would I or who would you contact to find out your factory start code. The code Im using right now is a code I made up when I bought my boat. The dealer programed the code Im using now. I was wondering how to change my code and I was told I need the factory code to get into the start menu. Would the dealer still have my factory code 5 years after I bought my boat?

I would start with your dealer, as they should still have the code. If they still don't have it on file, I'm sure it was passed along to CC and in their records. It has to be one of the two that has it.

All you have to do is email cc through their web site with the hull # and you will have it in a day.

Mark I think that works if you are on file as the registered owner. I took my title to the local CC dealer and they called and got the code in about 15 minutes.

I thought the code you put in to "lock" the keypad was what the "unlock" or start code is. Kind of like a hotel safe. I am vaguely recalling this information from a friend's 2005 SN from 2 summers ago. I thought you could put any code you want in to lock the keypad and then you just enter that again to unlock and start. I could be WAY out in left field on this. But, might be worth a try before going through a bunch of hassle.

            RE: Factory ignition code

In the 2000 boats there were 3 codes available. The Master code the factory puts in and is used by the factory and mechanics working on the boats so you don't have to tell them your codes, and 2 additonal codes you were able to program in yourself so you could remember them. Any of the three could be used in the same way to lock and unlock the ignition. after you enter the code the ignition is on and you then push start again to actually start the boat. When you are done you enter the code to turn the ignition off.
