Port ballast won't fill on its own.

03 210 port ballast will not fill on it's own. He have to prime it by drive a little way to force water into it. Any one else have this problem. If so how did you fix it?? Thanks.

Unfortunately, my boat is doing the same thing on both tanks. I am working with CC and a couple dealers to resolve. I think mine is drawing in a little air from the ballast valve.

All three of my tanks do that (03 SAN), I have to prime them by driving for a few seconds, then they are usually fine for the rest of the day. Hasn't really started to bug me...yet.

I have had it with the valves and non-priming fill pumps. I can deal with the priming issues but I don't want to deal with the valve any longer. I have three impeller fill pumps on the bench and a box of hardware waiting to get installed as soon as I have a little time.

          Mike et al,
My wife and I are pretty tired of trying to figure out whether the tanks are filling or emptying or FULL or EMPTY. Between the valves, pumps and floats not working all the time, it gets pretty frustrating.
Anyone have the current plumbing layout for a 2001ish AN? Anyone have a better setup or way to eliminate the air valves, sea **** shutoff in the engine compartment (requiring an engine kill everytime), and something with better performance and more reliability?
What's the difference between the stock aerator pumps and impeller pumps?

          Thanks in advance,

          Lorin

There are a couple of upgrade options for your boat. I'm not sure how the air valves work, but I'm sure you could bypass them easily. Then you could either stick in electric valves or you could retrofit the TH Marine valves with the flow-rite acuators. I'm thinking of doing the later on our boat. I just have to figure out where I can mount the two acutators. Opening the engine cover is a real drag.

My buddy's 05 Air 216 does the same thing, but with both the port & starboard tanks...annoying.

Mine also do the same thing. I also have problems getting them to empty sometimes. I have to start filling the tanks until water comes out the airvents then start to drain.
