    FCC or tank problem?

Hey guys, first post. This seems like a great forum.
I have a 98 supersport with a Gt40 engine. After last years season, I (accidentally) ran the boat completely out of gas. Didn't touch the boat again for 8 months. Now I came back, gased it up, and it won't fire. Everything runs. I've tested the Fuel pump in the FCC, and it works, but isn't pulling fuel. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge, and it reads zero. The fuel filter is very old, but wouldn't clog up the whole system would it? What should I do? I appreciate any help.

I've had trouble this season with my 02 SAN not starting. Someone siphoned the gas from my boat over the winter and I started it after de-winterizing w/o checking the fuel level. I dont know if they put water in my tank or I got some bad fuel but the FCC was full of water along with all the fuel lines and the injector rails. I would suggest changing the fuel filter, especially if it is old. Does your low pressure fuel pump work? Is yours injected or throttle body? There is a post on here somewhere that describes a way to prime the lines.

Here is a reply to my issues and it contains some really helpful ideas to narrow down the issue.

Here is the case; Fuel tank -> first fuel (low presure) pump -> to the (FCC) fuel bowl (where a filter is in), in this bowl there also is a second fuel (high presure) pump. If there is to much fuel in the bowl it will returned by a normal fuel hose to the fuel tank -> on top of the fuel bowl (FCC) there are 2 high presure fuel lines coming out, one to each injector rail on each cilinder row. Also on top of the FCC fuel bowl there is a nipple to vent air out of the bowl.
Check this nipple if it spills some fuel and air. If not the bowl doesn't get enough fuel, the first pump needs to be primed then (if it runs). If it bleeds fuel and air, find the second nipple on one of the injector rails. Check if this will bleed some fuel. If not, the second pump (in the fuel bowl) doesn't run (check voltage, if good; check pump). If it bleeds, the injectors (all eight) won't work. It's almost unreal that all eight stopped working, so it must be in the controls then.
But I think it's something easy, like the first fuel pump needs some priming. Just unscrew the fuel hose between the first pump and FCC, disconnect the connector for the first fuel pump, check with a voltage meter if there is any voltage for 2-3 seconds when turning the ignition on (2 pushes on the start button). If that is the case, check which is the positive and the negative terminal on the connector. Apply a +12V on the fuel pump connector and check if the pump is running and sucks some fuel. If not you'll have to fill the fuel line (between the tank and pump) with petrol.

Mofugga..the fuel filter WILL affect fuel flow.Once its "soaked in water" or dirty it will not allow efficient fuel flow.Just change it for piece of mind.otherwise yr internal pump and its relay will be working too hard to "pull" the gas.

I never checked the first fuel pump. I'll check that, and get a new filter before i start going nuts with the fuel lines. I took off the FCC completely the other day, will i need to do anything special to it, or can i just hook up all the lines again? Thanks.

The line from the tank to the low pressure pump is bone dry. Doesn't that line need to be primed for that pump to work? Is this the source of the problem?
