2007 SAN 210 Tower cracking and poping noise.

We have a 2007 210 SANTE and in the last two weeks the tower has started making a poping and cracking noise that was not there before. Has anyone seen this problem and and my depth gage shows 1.4 feet 98% of the time, does anyone know how to fix this?

Does it does this with no boards on the racks as well? As far as your depth gauge sounds like maybe an air bubble in the adhesive of your transducer. take back to dealer for that.

I just had to tighten the front posts on both sides of my 07' 210 tower. Mine too was making some racket when I'd hit some rough water... I discovered that I was able to pull up on the post and it would make some noise as if it were moving. I found that the nut that tightens the tower had backed off quite a bit. Once I tightened it the sound was gone! You have to pull the seat back of the starboard side bow seat to get access to the nuts on the starboard side, but the port side can be access in the dry storage compartment. Check to see if you can recreate the noise by pulling upward on the post. Note that there are Allen set screws involved as well. They are on the front side at the bottom of the post. Make sure they are tight.

The depth finder reading 1.4 feet is a common problem. If you do a search, there are plenty of threads on that topic. Basically it comes down to the Hummingbird depth finder being pretty crappy and the only solution is to replace it. Since it's on an 07, I'd have the dealer take care of it.
